Do members have special pages on the website?
Yes, they will see the following menu choices.

Do you have to be on the race team to buy a jersey?
No, but the kit will cost more than a TER membership.
Does TER have paid staff?
No. The director and all board members work tirelessly for the team without pay.
Is each TER member expected to contribute?
Yes. Every TER member is expected to contribute time to help accomplish the goals of the team and take leadership roles or, as a minimum, assist the team with various activities such as helping out with our road and / or mountain bike races, the Triple Bypass, leading club or training rides, trailwork weekend, etc.
There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. In 2010, a new requirement will be imposed such that each member MUST volunteer TWICE in each racing season to remain a member in good standing or to collect RIP awards. This year, the option to pay $50 instead of performing two volunteers events will exist.
Does TER have a mission statement?
Yes.
Team Evergreen Racing (TER) is open to all cyclists who have an interest in the sporting side of cycling. We provide experienced riders a supportive framework in which to pursue their goals and foster competition, personal responsibility, sportsmanship and hard work while offering recreational cyclists an environment in which to grow, develop confidence and learn more about the sport.
Who will manufacture our team clothing in 2010?
Capo will be providing us with our 2010 clothing.
To receive your team kit before race season starts, you should join TER by the end of December 2009, to receive your kit by Christmas, join by October 25th. Racers joining in 2010 will not be guaranteed getting their kit for the early delivery date.
Can anybody join Team Evergreen Racing? How much does it cost, when does the racing year begin and end, what do I get with a TER membership?
Yes. The only requirement is that you must be a Team Evergreen Bicycle Club member and have a desire to race a bike at least three times a year. Racing can be on road, mountain, cyclocross, fixed gear, triathlon, time trial or just about any kind of human powered vehicle. TER members participate in races that are organized by ACA, NORBA, and several other organizations that organize races, primarily in the mountain states. We discourage members from joining the team just to get member discounts from our sponsors.
Annual TER racing membership begins and ends every calendar year in January 1st. The 2010 membership fee is $165.00 and includes 1-short sleeve Jersey, 1-Short or bibshort, and 1-pair of socks. The membership fee goes up by $10 after October 25th.
Is it too late to join Team Evergreen Racing?
No. It's never too late! The deadline to receive a team kit from the first order will be October 25th, 2009. Additional orders for kits will be made as the need arises during the year. You can join the team at any time during the year, but you may get your kit at a later date in the 2010 racing season.
To qualify for RIP in 2010, when must I join TER?
There is no deadline to qualify for RIP benifits in 2010. Regardless of when you join this year, you will receive RIP benifits for every race you participate in while racing for Team Evegreen Racing - you must wear your current kit jersey during all races you participate in. (You can not count races that you participated in prior to becoming a TER member.) However, be aware of the deadline to enter your race results for RIP accounting (the day before the awards party in early December.
Will there be a womens incentive again in 2010?
Yes.
In order to encourage more women participation in the sport we will reimburse first year TER women members 50% of their team membership fee who finish a minimum of 3 races in that calendar year, unless their RIP amount is greater than 50% of their membership fee, in which case there will be no membership fee reimbursement.
Example 1: If a TER woman racer does finish three races and earns $150 in RIP awards, then there will be no womens incentive bonus paid. Total award party RIP money would be $150.
Example 2: If a TER woman racer does finish three races and earns $30 RIP money, total award party RIP money would be the womens incentive of $67.50 (or 50% of the $115 membership fee).
What are the rules that must be followed so that I can receive RIP money in 2010?
Since our racing program is set up to distribute cash and gift certificates to the riders at the end of the year, we must clarify these rules upfront so you know exactly what is expected of you if you wish to participate in our racing program. These rules also let you know the deadlines to get your results submitted to be counted for the end of the year awards party.
The total amount given to the racers will be determined by the racing board committee and after all yearly team expenses, sponsor and travel expenses any other outstanding bills that the team may still owe have been paid. The board will then allocate “X” amount of funds and this amount will then be divided up amongst the riders. Riders who participate in more races and place well will receive a higher share of the RIP fund. The program has been set up to encourage race participation.
Please review these Rider Incentive Program rules and initial below that you have read these rules and will abide by them if you are to participate in the program.
1. All riders who plan to participate in the TER Rider Incentive Program (RIP) must members of Team Evergreen Racing while racing in any race used for RIP consideration.
2. All riders must list Team Evergreen Racing as your primary sponsor on your race entry forms. If a rider chooses to list another sponsor then you will not receive TER Rider Incentive Program (RIP) points for that race.
3. All riders must wear at a minimum the Team Evergreen Racing jersey during your race. If the TER jersey is not worn then you will not get RIP credit for that race. Wearing of the full current team kit is highly recommended. The only exception to this rule will be for MTB races that last between 6-24 hours in length where multiple clothing changes might occur.
4. You must enter all of your race results into our racing team’s online database no later than the day before the awards party in order to get credit for your racing results. If you enter your results after this date, then your results will not be counted in the program. This is to allow us to compile everyone’s points and determine the payout to everyone before our end of the year awards party.
5. Every TER member is expected to contribute time in accomplishing the goals of the team and take leadership roles or, as a minimum, assist the team with two (2) various activities such as helping out with our road and / or mountain bike races, the Triple Bypass, lead club or training rides, etc.
